Location: Fahnestock State Park, Carmel NY

Google Map Link — for Waze, Google Maps and other GPS, type in “Canopus Beach Complex—Fahnestock State Park”

Directions:

Fahnestock State Park  is about 75 minutes north of NYC, in upstate NY.

We will be meeting at the following location —  Canopus Lake Beach Complex within Fahnestock State Park. Park and walk down to the lake and we will be at tables towards the right back side

The Canopus Lake Beach Complex is off of Rt 301, less than a mile from when you get off the Taconic State Parkway, on your right side just before the Park office.

GPS address: 1498 NY-301, Carmel Hamlet, NY 10512  -

This is the address for the park office, about 1/3 of a mile further down Rt 301 when coming via the Taconic, so once you get off the Taconic, look for signs for Canopus Lake Beach Complex on the right side of the road, before you get to this address, which is not the lake location but the park office location.

If coming via Cold Spring/Bear Mountain Bridge, then you will come first to the park office at the above address and then see Canopus Lake further along Rt 301 on your left side, about a 1/3 of a mile past the office.

Here is a Google maps link to the location we are meeting at, which you can use to generate your own direction to the location.

Camping Location:

The group campsite is located 5 miles away from Canopus Lake, just off Route 301

Address:

646 Dennytown Road, Putnam Valley, NY 10579
